I have lived with FPM for 3 years and it has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. Besides having to replace the occasional light bulb, FPM takes care of everything else. When we moved in there was a huge gash in the kitchen linoleum, we went to the office and talked with one of the managers and within three weeks we had all new floors in the kitchen and all the bathrooms! Whenever we had an issue or a maintenance request it was always dealt with quickly. A sub leaser over the summer had broken the blinds in the main room (literally ripped out of the wall). we submitted a maintenance request and they were replaced at no cost to us. Air conditioning and Heating never had any problems and all appliances worked perfectly. FPM has an online portal they use which makes it really easy to schedule a monthly payment so your rent is never late. We have also rented an extra parking spot from them which was covered and had plenty of space in the spot. I have also rented a storage unit from FPM for a month during move in. Lastly, you are able to hand your lease down to friends. I had such a good experience with FPM that I suggested he take over my lease. So I will be handing it down to him when I move out. FPM is really helpful at giving you an exceptional place to live with extremely helpful staff.

I would put 0 stars but 1 is the lowest i can go. The managememt is total trash. You try to work with them on stuff or make you feel like its their home more than it is yours. Maintence and management just walks in without giving any form of notice. This property is so rediculous and horrendous for the kind of rates that they charge. Recently changed my vent filter that they neglected to change for months and after telling them not to get rid of my 18 dollar filter they replaced it with a 3 dollar cheap one. They DO NOT care about their tenants.

They know we are students and we need a place so they treat us like we are not worth their time. Please don't support this business unless you want to encourage the way they treat fellow students. 3) They said they would run back ground check: that's a lie. They only care to get the lease done although later I figured out one of my roommates couldn't afford her rent in the past (in debt with a thousand dollars in her previous rental and got kicked out from another property before that) so I asked them about it and they said they already approved her so they couldn't do anything about it. (But the lease bounds all the tenants in apartment so 1 person is late in rent the others are held responsible, too). 4) They expect you to pay rent on time and charge you fine if you are late (I paid on the first of August and today, the second time, after got confirmation on phone that it would be ready today, when I came into their office they said they didn't have any keys ready for me and that my roommate already took my keys. I don't care if my roommates have my keys they are supposed to give me my keys since I pay them rent and the lady at front desk said it wasn't their fault- making me taking cab 2 times back and forth from Altoona to Ames back and forth with no keys- and that it was roommates issues and they don't care and I said how was it roommate issue I gave them money I expected to have keys from them not my roommates/ and I have 2 roommates I reached out 1 of them said they didn't have mine and the other one is out of country for personal reasons and she didn't tell me anything). 4) The lady in the front desk will try to intimidate you by not admitting the company's fault and say sorry to you but will make it sounds like your fault instead. She was like "oh it wasn't me who gave her the keys" and "it wasn't me who talked to you on the phone told you to come today". I DON'T CARE. You are talking as a company's representative and you don't value your customers and you don't listen you should be fired for irresponsible. You could have said "Oh I'm really sorry that happened we would try to make the keys right away it's our fault" but nope. No apology at all although I already explained to her how it is the company's fault. She expected me to use my roommates keys and no- she won't be home the time I am home so don't tell me to do ridiculous things. THANK YOU. 5) I asked to talk to a manager and she said there was none of them there but Monday. I expect to be able to talk to a manager on a normal working business day not to deal with rude employees and I can't do nothing about it right then and there.
