You are two blocks from the hopping (or soon to be hopping again) West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square, and you are two blocks from the underrated Fern Park. This house sits in the middle of The Center and park in a sought after neighborhood of mostly single-family houses.
The Center is so renowned that it has been written up in numerous magazines (i.e., Kiplingers) and publications as a top 10 place to live for the active community, highly acclaimed restaurants and bars (Briccos is our favorite), numerous outdoor patios, specialty gyms, and some of the best happy hour spreads you fill find (Max’s, Rizzuto’s). This is truly the envy of all surrounding towns centers, and we haven’t even brought up the 10 different places you can walk to get ice cream.
Fern Park offers open green space, baseball field and basketball courts, multiple playgrounds, and an affordable pool membership. A great space to exercise, walk, or even fish in the meandering stream.
What makes this apartment so unique is that it’s actually TWO apartments combined to one. For years the third floor was rented out separately, but the house is only zoned for a two-family. Hence, this “double decker” apartment is made up of both the second and third floor of this beautiful two-family house that has been in the same caring family for over 50 years!
There is space and rooms for everyone. The multiple floors offer privacy and flexible layout options. It’s great for an in-law arrangement, where a family member/friend could have their own separate and private living space on the third floor. Each floor has its own full bath and the third floor could have a kitchenette.
Besides the premium location, this property is one of the best maintained multi-families that you will come across. Pride of ownership shows everywhere, including a brand-new driveway, new roof, and newer mechanicals. There is even an electric garage door opener that you typically don’t see in a multi-family rental. Furthermore, this is quiet and ideal first floor tenant.
The 2nd floor is a spacious three bedroom and one full bath layout with seven total rooms. The biggest surprise is the layout on the third floor. This is quite possibly the best third floor layout we have seen in a multi-family. It’s best described by being very open (doesn’t feel like a third floor with tiny rooms or obvious slanted ceilings everywhere) with a large front bedroom.
As mentioned before, there is a kitchenette area with a sink and some cabinets and a spot for some stools, and this space is open to the living room. This whole floor is super cozy and easy to call home. It was just sheet rocked to give it a more modern feel. There is one entrance to the third floor through the back stairwell.
Lastly, there is a nice yard and fire pit area. There is also a back porch off the second floor for some outdoor living space. Lots of windows make up the second floor and makes it a naturally bright unit. Overall, it’s a unique and one-of-a-kind apartment in a A++ location.
Please keep in mid there is a strict application process that focuses heavily on credit. A minimum credit score of 675+ is required. There is also a background, employment and income verification. One year minimum lease. The property is professionally managed. The apartment comes with its own washer and dryer in the lower level.
