Working for Meadows as an RA was a great experience. You get experience with the leasing process and working with tenants from different cultures. As RA you get free living and an electricity allowance! If you are a student looking for living and experience to add to your resume, I definitely recommend University Meadows.

there is nothing good to show about this apartment . I have never cheated by people like the management office. the manger is very very rude. she never respect the students. Nobody in the Meadows like this manger. let us talk first about bad maintenance, I had problem with AC and nobody response or resolved the problem . I lived in Meadows only four months and I'm very glad for leaving it. If you would live in the jail, choose the Meadows rooms. they are very small even not enough if You have visitor to sleep with you. when my lease finished, I asked the manger to refund my deposit . I paid 750$ because they said your lease only 4 months. I forced to accept because I'm not citizen and only 15 days arrived US. they do use international students. I told the manger to back my money but she refused and said you have one bulb broken and a little toothpaste on carpet . they charged me 40$ for bulb and 300$ for spot on carpet. they threatened me to call police . I was scared . so I don't recommend any body to live in this horrible place. If you like to be stolen , live there.

University Meadows is a nice place to settle when you are enrolling at UMSL. It is closely located to the UMSL campus and there is a shuttle coming to pick up students. It is beautiful and fun place to be at in the summers, when the swimming pool and jacuzzi are available to residents. The majority of its residents are international students, who make it exciting to live at Meadows because they do things together, but there is also a group of residents who do not go to school anymore. This makes it hard for Meadows to create a true college atmosphere/experience to UMSL students. The personnel working at the facility is very helpful. They are reachable 24/7 and if something in your apartment gets broken, they mostly fix it within the same day without charging you. The internet, however, is very poor. In the two years that I have been there, it has never been good and I have had troubles browsing or streaming. Given its location, I would also say that the University Meadows is slightly overpriced. The rent does not reflect the prices in the area and the extra facilities are not completely worth the premium paid. In short, Meadows is a pretty decent place to live if you are enrolled at UMSL..There are many nice people, but admittedly, it does not really give you the college experience.

Expect to never get your security deposit back. I moved out two months ago and still haven't gotten mine when they said it would take four weeks. I have called the past three weeks and they keep saying the same thing that they mailed it out today and obviously if that was true then I would have it by now. I asked if I was going to get it or not and they said hopefully. Hopefully does not work for me.

Do NOT live here. Worst living experience of my life. Their "free internet" doesn't work over half the time and I was unable to finish multiple assignments due to such slow internet. The "free cable" also doesnt work and never was fixed or even looked at after multiple complaints. The staff is very uncaring and rude about everything. They lost amazon orders, overcharged for everything and will randomly walk into your room or wake you up early for "inspections." Wish I could give less than one star.

Just moved in my Son. The Meadows advertises internet is provided. But then fails to provide any useful internet speed. They want you to sign-up for the extra cost version. Not sure why they would say and commit to provide internet and then try to extort more money for "extra" level of service. So for those who are considering renting at the Meadows, I would advise to look for something off campus. There are many low cost options near by and with better facilities. The Meadows is the wrong place to stay.

This place is absolutely horrendous. The apartment is extremely outdated and overpriced. There are holes in the wall and the closet doors are missing. The room is super tiny. It is like living in a dorm. There are RAs and "mandatory" meetings. In addition to this, they will charge you extra for it being fully furnished on top of the rent. It is not stated under the rental installment portion of the lease, instead it's stated under furniture. When you call and ask how much it is total they will tell you only the rent and the utilities but not tell you about the furniture costing extra. On top of this, they are rude. They will come into your apartment without any notice. The even go in your personal bedroom without notice. You're not allowed to have alcohol if any of your roommates are under 21 and even if you are 21 they will put you with roommates that are not. I really don't have one good thing to say about this place. You're better off getting an apartment that's actually updated and not ran like a dorm. There's plenty of those already on campus. They charge you $10 for a lockout and each time it goes up $10.

Meadows is just an awesome and lovely place to stay for international exchange students. The stuff is there for you when ever you need them, they are always nice and kind, have an open ear and a helping hand! They put a lot of effort into different events to get the residents together. It's not just a place to stay, it is a place where friendship is made! Great place, great people, awesome time.

Even a year and a half later I get angry when I think about this place. Their late fee tactics are near predatory. Most students will return from Christmas break with a penalty for not paying their rent on January 1st when they were at home with their families. At the beginning of the next year I asked to pay for a whole semester plus one months rent to keep it from happening again. Needless to say they only charged me up to January 1st rather than February 1st despite my specific request. I think its part of their business model. A lesser complaint would be the time they assigned me a roommate without informing me. His first night he showed up at midnight when I was asleep causing me to nearly attack him in fright. Luckily he managed to explain who he was and that he was standing in the dark in the living room because he couldn't find the light switch. A simple email would have prevented a dangerous situation. The staff is apathetic. Most of the time they will write down your issue on a sticky note and you will never hear from them again. The laundry machines will eat your bills and register nothing. The only good thing I can say about this place is that it has a convenient location on south campus. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a place to live.

Attn to all students considering University Meadows: DO NOT DO IT!!!! Unless you have a scholarship that will pay for it, it is not worth it. Looks very nice on the outside but the inside is small and damp. They did not clean my apartment before I moved in. The Internet that they say is included DOES NOT WORK!!!! I tried to load a vine (6 second video) took 15 minutes for it to buffer. I have been trying to get my dishwasher fixed that never worked from day 1. It is now November 1st and have yet to have a guy know how to fix it. Not only is it small and very low in quality but is very unreasonably expensive. I have a 2 bedroom that is supposed to cost me $599 plus electric. It would be cheaper to live in Oak Hall, even with the meal plan. The rooms are bigger and you don't have to pay for utilities. The Internet always works over there, too. Also, if you're looking to live with friends, Oak is a lot more fun as you are in the same BUILDING with all of your friends. If you are looking to get away from the RAs, they are here too. Since everything in the apartment is run by electric, it costs around $75 just for that so with taxes, my average rent is $700\month. I could have my own apartment in the central west end for this much. It's a cool idea, but a terrible decision economically and the people that own the place give terrible customer service. There is never anywhere to park. If you want to use the laundry facilities they have here, it's $1.25/load. That is even more of a reason to stay at Oak. Honestly, I would never wish this misery on anyone. Live anywhere else BUT HERE!

Interned for a major company in the region. They shuffled me and the other interns around to allot rooms for full-time students. I was given 1 day notice to move. When explaining the situation to me, there was no apology. The place is falling apart. On move-in day, I lightly-tapped the air-conditioner control, and the front panel fell off. It had a really old note that read, "don't turn the dial past 70 degrees or the machine shuts down". Nothing ever gets fixed. The coffee table had a broken strut when I moved in, reported it immediately (and then 3 more times over 3 months). Nothing ever happened. The design of the apartments was awful, they put an optical smoke detector a meter from my stove so you can barely make tea. The light in the corridor is on throughout the night at full brightness right outside my bedroom window so its difficult to sleep.

Living at Univ. Meadows would not be something I would recommend to anyone. The staff in the office is very rude and does not know how to stay organized and promptly try to solve resident issues. I was there for 7 months and lived in a studio efficiency. The assistants, some at least, were nice and would actually talk to you in clubhouse or laundry area but for the most part they didn't acknowledge you. Maintenance sucks. I had to put in three complaints in a one week period for the same issue. The rent is OVERPRICED like crazy. Near $1,000 for an efficiency.. the area surrounding it isn't even nice. The staff is rude, inside and out. Not caring about getting another done and completely stuck up to residents. Terrible at communication. Will drag something out just because they're trying to come up with excuses. When I did get a response from a staff member the email was blunt and not welcoming. Never experienced the pool or hot tub, don't have opinion on that. Laundry room always dirty and people never change their load over in time so there's periods of every washer and dryer just full of resident's clothes. Would not recommend being a village assistant here unless you want to work near 30 hours a week just doing their chores. Oh, and when you make your security deposit, which everyone knows you have to have before you move in, get something in writing from the office workers saying you turned it in, as well as application fee. Scammers. And you will pay for utilities even after you move out, and if you don't catch that then your loss. I fought for mine to be adjusted and finally happened two months after I loved out. Do not live here. All new, friendlier, staff is needed, ASAP. Good luck!
