Jefferson School Apartments is a great place to live. Liz the property manager is always responsive and helpful. Maintenance is quick to respond to requests. Covered parking is really great. The place is clean and quiet. The gym is great and having a washer dryer in your apartment is wonderful. I have been here for over two years.

Single bedroom apartments are in good condition. Maintenance is fairly quick about responding to issues. Dumpster divers destroy the enclosed garbage areas so they're pretty disgusting. Neighbors are fairly nice. If you're balcony is facing the Strong Volkswagen dealership, you're in for a bad time. You will be woken up to car alarms. If you have the work from home option, you can't concentrate on your work due to the car alarms. If you want to sleep in, can't do it due to car alarms. Complaints to both the dealership and the city fall on deaf ears. I know Liz, the property manager, called on our behalf numerous times. It is obvious she was ignored. So not a bad place overall but if you're facing the car dealership, it's going to suck. Often.

I recently moved out worse place to live at. Property manager Liz is horrible person. I was trying to rent somewhere else and I didn't get approved because Liz said I didn't get along with the neighbors, said I didn't pick up after my dogs and my dogs were barking all the time also said my dog was running around the parking lot without supervision which is totally a lie. I had a guy molested me a couple times I complain and they never did anything about it. They're super nice to you at first but in reality they aren't they just look for every excuse to keep your deposit money. My car got broken into twice and they didn't do anything about it they don't even have cameras but she dares to say everything about my dogs and me. She said she has complains from everyone and everywhere about me and my dogs. I was always working most of time and she said I didn't get along with neighbors. She's believing other people's stories if she would of seen it or heard it for or even the maintenance guy then that's a different story. Makes me very upset. I'll never rent there again my mistake.

I lived here 1-year through January 2017. Here is what I found from apartment living experience, Pros: 1. Community inside Salt Lake City 2. Good Amenities - [Microwave, Dishwasher, Garbage disposal, in unit washer and dryer, big walk in closet] 3. Patio and Fitness Center (nice, quiet, always empty) Cons: 1. Limited Parking Space Both Open(free) and Covered(assigned). Garage needs 100$/month and you need to take year around. 2. Maintenance & Apartment Office help: Apartment Office people will not available during regular Apt Office timings [Mon-Fri 9am-5pm] to help you to address maintenance questions, etc. If you need any help, you need to toss a coin and stop by physically to office to report any maintenance or help needed. If your luck turns in, you will see any office lady out there, else go back to your work site to continue work. Repeat this process until you get what you need- perhaps weeks, etc. If you call them, they will never be with phone. 3. Apartment Office won't open on Saturday. Point (2) will add more complex if you need to go to work Mon-Friday.

I lived here 5 years, and despite it's somewhat questionable location, I felt safe most of the time. (I had a neighbor for a while I had to call the cops on.) I did live in a small unit, but it was beautiful. Dishwasher, garbage disposal, in unit washer and dryer, big walk in closet, patio, and nice, quiet, and always empty, workout room, none of which I had in my overpriced Sugarhouse apartment. I loved Liz, the manager, she was always very helpful, friendly, and extremely prompt with requests. (She immediately went to the neighbor in question, after I told her the story of cop calling.) I paid extra for a garage, and it was well worth it. I never once had an inspection I want made aware of. My fees were never changed arbitrarily, they only changed with lease renewal, which is the norm. I'd never have moved out, if they allowed pets in my unit, as my then fiance had one. Unfortunately, I had to move to his crappy complex!

UPDATED 7/15/2015 Make sure your auto isnt overlapping on the sidewalk. I am really loving it here. The teens in the park still scares me, not sure if they are gang related or not. It's quite except when my neighbors come and leave home, you always think it's your door opening and closing. People mind their own business. One night my car door was left open, didnt know it was open until I went to car the next day and it was open. Guess it's a good thing. Must move your auto every 24 hours, no space hogging. 06/12/2015 I havent even moved in and I regret it already. The garage was dirty, I contacted the office manager on Friday, she stated I would have to wait until Tuesday. I was planning on moving the weekend so I couldnt wait. Starting to regret it already. The ladies in the office can come off mean, rude and harsh, but quickly tries to sugar coat the rest of the conversation to keep you from going off. I pray it gets better. #FML

I have moved in for more than 2 months now. Here is some thoughts, if you are thinking about moving in. 1. Parking spots are busy. Garage costs $50/mo and if you decide to take it, you can't cancel it until the lease ends; YOU WILL LOSE YOUR FREE COVERED PARKING SPOT at the same time. You get one covered parking spot, you will be put on waiting list for that. At first, we were told 1-2 weeks of wait. After we signed the contact, the wait became 2-4 weeks. As today, we were still on the 4th on the list. There are some free parking, first come first serve, very busy. Parking on the street happens a lot. 6 staff/visitor parking spots you can use after office hours. 2. The management is not so good. The office hour is 9-5, M-F, there were more than 3 times (in these 2 months), When I went there, they left early. I don't really feel I'm welcomed, to be honest. In the past renting experience, I talked to management less than 10 times in a year and never had problem with them. But because of the parking issue, I checked with them very frequently. I felt very frustrated. Two ladies work there gave me different information (one told me I was on the 2nd on the parking waiting list 2 weeks ago and other other told me I was the 4th today). 3. The gym. Dirty. No wipes provided so I had to bring me own. There are only 5 equipments and some of them are broken. 4. Hot tub is indoor, which is nice if they clean it. Many times, I saw dead ants in the water for days. If the water is clean, you just need to close your eyes, don't look at the dirty floor. Pool open in May, it is a outdoor pool so some leaves always floating in the water. There are 2 entrances, only one works, they do not plan to fix the other one, because they don't want people "come in and out through that door". 5. Maintenance is fast and nice. Usually can get things done the same day or next day. 6. Sound proof is ok. You can hear your neighbor occasionally but not always. Overall, I regret moving in, dealing with parking and management daily is not fun, but I have 10 more months. I will defiantly move out when the lease ends. I DO NOT recommend this apartment.

I'm going on my third year living here now and I have to admit that my perception of this place has changed since the first year. When I first moved in, the experience was perfect, especially because I moved over from City Park Apartments (which is an absolute HORRIBLE place to live). The apartments are kept in very good condition, with all of my upholstery looking almost brand-new. I barely found any problems with my apartment and even then, they had already told me of the pre-existing issues that were there. We were lucky to qualify for the income-based discount so we pay a little bit less on rent that everyone else. In the beginning, any concerns I had were quickly addressed by the leasing management. However, over time, that great customer service started to fade away. Let me state some examples. Last year, my dryer stopped exerting heat and it takes almost half a day for the machine to dry the clothes. I asked the management to fix it and one of the leasing managers told me to simply lighten my laundry load. I just deal with the problem now instead of trying to bug them over and over again about the same issue. Also, months ago, the porch light in front of my door went out so it was a little difficult coming home at night because I couldn't see where my key was going. I called the leasing office to fix the problem, but it was never fixed. I eventually had to call a second time to remind them. We'll see if anyone will come. That's not the biggest complaint I have about this complex though. The walls that were built into the apartments are very thin, so it's very easy to hear your neighbors talking or walking around. In the beginning, I didn't have that issue because I was lucky enough to have sensible neighbors who were never loud. However, within the last year, I've had two different families with children move in next to me and below me. The family that lives next to me aren't as bad as the family below me. They blasted their music at night during the weekdays and I had to personally knock on their door to remind them people actually need to sleep because they have work in the morning. But the worst part about this family is the dad ALWAYS has to yell at his children early in the morning, as if he's rushing them to get ready for school. I can't count how many times my sleep's been disturbed because the dad think it's okay to scream at 7 in the morning. I always knew when they were coming home because their children always has to STOMP on every single step when they go up the stairs. This family's assigned parking spot is also right next to mine and I've found a couple of dinks and dents on my car since they've moved in, which I suspect is from their children recklessly opening the door and letting it hit my vehicle. My point is, I've addressed these issues regarding my neighbors to the leasing managers. I don't know if they've actually talked to them or gave them warnings. But nothing has changed and all I can do is deal with it until my lease is over. The first two years that I lived there was great, but I don't know what's happened within the last year. Whatever it is, it's enough to make me guarantee that I will not be renewing my lease next year. The units are beautiful but I'm at that point where dealing with unresponsive management is unacceptable.
