The community is a good proximity to campus and to the mall and grocery stores. Upon first look, the carpets may look clean enough, but make sure to vacuum once just to be safe/sure. We assumed that the apartment had been cleaned thoroughly enough before move-in until my boyfriend started getting moderate to severe allergic reactions that he only gets from cat dander. Upon vacuuming the carpet once, the vacuum was full of dust, dander, and hair that we emptied out into a trash bag while out on the balcony for safe measure. Despite this, my boyfriend still had allergic reactions and so we vacuumed again and again. In total, we ended up vacuuming about 5 times in living room + dining space + hallway, and another 5 times in the bedroom. Each vacuuming session filled the full-sized vacuum. Unfortunately, he is still getting some reactions when exposed to items that were moved in prior to cleaning, so we'll have to thoroughly clean or toss them out. A few things should be noted: first, that we did not notice how dirty the carpets were in our visual inspection of the carpet (mainly were looking for stains/discolorations and couldn't see dust or dander) and thus didn't put in a service request, and second, that my roommate and I did not consider something like this warranted for something for maintenance to handle, but management assured us that they would have been able to something for us had we reached out to them initially. If you're allergic to animals such as cats and/or dogs and plan on living here, maybe vacuum once or twice before moving in to see if the carpets are fully clean, and if not contact management and make a service request. Although the leasing office doesn't have any records of previous occupants having any pets, my roommate, boyfriend, and I are still under the impression that there was a cat in the apartment but was not registered with the leasing office.

The community is a good proximity to campus and to the mall and grocery stores. However, not long after moving in, we discovered how poorly cleaned and filthy the carpets were! Upon first look, the carpets may look clean enough, but your vacuum will show you otherwise. We assumed that the apartment had been cleaned before move-in until my boyfriend started getting moderate to severe allergic reactions that he only gets from cat dander. Upon vacuuming the carpet once, the vacuum was full of dust, dander, and hair that we emptied out into a trash bag while out on the balcony for safe measure. Very, very disappointed in the lackluster cleaning that may or may not have even occurred before move-in. Unfortunately, he is still getting some reactions when exposed to items that were moved in prior to cleaning, so we'll have to thoroughly clean or toss them out. If you're allergic to animals such as cats and/or dogs and plan on living here, be prepared to do most of the thorough cleaning to prevent allergic reactions as the cleaning service provided by the complex can't be trusted to be enough.
