Oakley Neighborhood Summary

Much like the neighboring Mount Lookout, Oakley is a fairly upscale Cincinnati neighborhood popular with young professionals. Its clean residential streets and quaint business avenues include remnants of Oakley’s historic past, such as the 20th Century Theater — which is now one of the neighborhood’s premier event venues — and vintage ice cream shop Aglamesis Bro's. Oakley’s historic areas contrast sharply with more hip, modern hangouts, giving this neighborhood its own distinct personality. One event that brings the community together is Oakley After Hours, a summer monthly street festival that keeps stores and restaurants open late into the night with live music, drinks, and deals. Apartments in Oakley, as in the adjacent Mount Lookout and Hyde Park, are a little on Cincinnati’s high end for price, but still very affordable. New luxury apartments, full homes, and older multi-family homes are all available for selective renters.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
