Any apartment complex you move to will have issues. There's no escaping it. Past the warm faces of the front counter or leasing agent, there's a slew of problems whether that be organizational, timeliness, responsiveness, or otherwise. I'm happy to say those problems were few and far in between during my 2017-2018 stay here. Here are some highlights. Price - I should not have paid this little for this place. For a 2-3 bedroom you can't beat the price/quality ratio. Mail/Packages - They've got their system DOWN. I probably have 2-3 packages come a week. Not an exaggeration. They scan packages as soon as they get them, which send a notification to your phone. That package isn't going anywhere. I usually let my packages build up to 6-8 of them in a month then go and get them. They haven't lost any of them. Security - You're in a freaking concrete building. And key faabslet you in and out of the main areas. Parking - Covered parking - enough said Ammenties - I rarely used them, but they were really nice. Here's the deal, other highly negative reviews were likely written when the management was, from what I heard, TERRIBLE, before 2017. There new team is solid, organized, and really, they just get it. I haven't had a serious complaint and it was a pleasure living here. TLDR: You're not going to beat the price you pay for the space you get and the absolute pros who take care of you. No way.

I lived here from August 2017 to May 2018 and experience with management has been awful. They say they have turned a new leaf since the UHL days but this is not true. My windows leaked the whole time I was there, and was told after a couple tries at fixing it I was just SOL. The hallways always smelled like vomit. Not to mention they straight up lie to you during a tour, saying you get HD cable and the ethernet ports work. Good luck ever talking to a manager or getting a question answered, because apparently none of the staff have any clue of what is going on. Over all, while the apartments themselves are nice enough, the management makes Coronado or the Standard a much better option. Even the canned response to reviews should show the management's complete apathy for their job.

Been staying here for almost two years, I dont usually write reviews but I kind of felt obligated to do this. When I first moved in there were all sorts of problems with management and customer service. Finally they started to rebrand and kicked all the old management to the curb and brought in fresh new Young faces. My roommate and I had problems with our neighbor and literally had to get the police involved in order for the new management to take action (because this was around move in time we werent so high on the priority list). After having our parents come down because we felt that incomfortable they finally moved us too a new apartment. As far as location wise its great! But the rooms are super small, the most youll be able to fit is a bed and tv. Oh and if you have a lot of clothes and shoes youll be better off getting a small storage unit because the closet space is even worse. Moving on..... the walls are as thin as a piece of paper, I hear my neighbor singing in the morning and I hear him snoring at night. So if you do plan on moving here hopefully you get quiet neighbors, because getting work done at home can be very challenging. There is a horrible cigarette odor coming through the vents from the apartment next door and because my room has no windows the smell is trapped inside which causes me to have terrible headaches (my clothes and bedding reek of cigarettes I even had to move some of my clothes to my roommates room) I went as far as taping my vent in my room because its that bad (I have notified management several times). Ummm lets see they have laundry rooms but dont count on them many times people move your things from the dryer even if theyre not dry. Oh and its smart if you do move here to pay for parking, my car got hit in the front of the building and they wouldnt even show me cameras. Maintenance is probably the only good thing they have going here if there is an issue they come in an fix it right away! New management is nice and theyll listen to your concerns but theyll just brush it under the rug unless you make it a big deal. These apartment are very comparable to college dorms. To say the least when July gets here and my lease is up Im running out of this place and I wont be looking back!

They have some awesome new amenities. One of the best perks is that they have a free expresso machine. And I renewed my release for another year. They also have an awesome staff who are always willing to help!

Under the new management, City Lofts on Laclede is a much better place. With the renovations, the rebranding, and the staff working hard to rekindle a connection with the residents, City Lofts is developing into a great place to live. Keep up the great work!

After a complete management overhaul and $1 million spent on renovations/improving rooms and amenities, UHL has become a great place to live with very helpful staff/management. Highly recommend!

YO, so they're doing a HUGE renovation here. It looks like they're redoing the fitness center, game room, study room, and according to management they're also getting a new internet cafe. YASSSS.....I'm pretty excited about all of this, especially since I love my apartment but wasn't a fan of the previous amenities. I had thought of moving to a place with better amenities, but looks like I'll be staying!! Also, the location really can't be beat with it being right next to campus...plus they're the only place with a dog park in this area....wish it was bigger but it's definitely better than what I saw at the standard next door, which was no dog park.

In 2016 they had a lot of employees turn over, but have rebounded and now have great customer service and always 3-4 people you can talk to with issues.

From the internet being out every other day, to vomit sitting in the hallways for weeks at a time, to the loud construction and fire alarms going off, this place is the epitome of horrible living. Oh, and the beautiful pictures of the pool that is only open for 1 month in the year while "It's cleaned," is swell too. The "workout room" has decrepit equipment from 1965 that's definitely past use. The only redeeming factor of this place is if you're a student it's close without being on campus and they have one study room. There are definitely better places to live and cheaper now that they continuously increase rent but not value.

I LOVED LIVING AT UHL! The apartment is big and spacious, great kitchen with new appliances! My view of the sunrise from my bedroom was wonderful! I love living so close to the city lights and fun venues like the Loop and the West End! My roommate and I had so much fun!!! :)
