Alright, let's take it from the top. We first moved in to Lincoln Ridge Apartments and had good vibes with all the management. We had a few issues with our dishwasher, that ended up getting replaced, in a timely manner. I own a dog and had asked management to please call before entering the apartment due to a liability issue. If my dog were to bite someone, I would be at fault. A few months later, one morning I heard a knock at the door, but I was half asleep. I get up to go to the door, and the lock start to unlock, and as soon as I go to the door and touch the knob, the lock magically locks itself again. I open the door to find a maintenance guy there. I asked him why he would open my door if I had requested that I get a call before anyone entering my apartment. He said he wasn't aware of that. I decided to let it slide seeing as I was in my apartment. But what do you think would have happened if I hadn't been home? Just today, I come home from work and see a maintenance note saying someone had been inside. I ask all of my roommates if they had set up the appointment and all of them said they didn't set up any appointment. So I call Lincoln Ridge and ask them why it is that someone had entered my apartment without prior consent from either of us. He responded that he wasn't aware someone had been in my apartment, but later mentioned Lisa said something about an emergency situation. Apparently a water line broke? I simply told him if there was another person entering my apartment without prior consent that I would have my lawyer contact him directly. Moments after this phone call had ended, I receive a call from Lisa from Lincoln Ridge Apartments saying she is frustrated that I called about the matter. She had told me that someone had called in a request to have some black mold removed from the bathroom. And she asked me how she would know there is black mold in the common bathroom without someone calling in. Seems a little strange to me. Now I look in the bathroom to find the black mold was gone. It was painted over. Now how do I know this hasn't happened with previous tenants? I'm willing to bet that that black mold has forever been prevalent. So they had to have known about the mold and wanted to paint it before the next tenants move in and found out. I'm willing to bet if someone removed a piece of the drywall in the bathroom that you would find horrid conditions beneath. And also they say in the lease to make sure you turn on the bathroom fan to prevent mold. Is the fan policy something to cover their rear ends? I would never, ever, recommend this place for ANYONE to live. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a rental property. If you sign a lease with Lincoln Ridge you will soon find out the many negative things that are associated with this property. Maybe a building inspector should take a look for the mold still in the shower, just a thought... And the insulation doesn't seem to exist, since the wind seems to just blow through the windows. We actually had ice forming on the inside of our bedroom window and blinds.
