I lived here for a year, this has been the most horrible living experience in my life.
The rent is very affordable so if you're low on income or looking to save, as I was, then I'd recommend this place. I never dealt with any roaches so I can't speak on that but the SPIDERS!!!! Were horrible!! The maintenance staff was great as far as answering emergency calls. One particular experience I had with a plumbing issue caused them to open a hole in the wall, which was left open for about a week due. During that time there were all sorts of spiders and unknown bugs in the bathroom where the hole was. I had to call the office repeatedly, just to be told they only had one maintenance person, so I let it slide. The office staff is rude as hell!!!!!! I've had to call corporate on several occasions. The final straw was when o attempted to put in my notice, I emailed a letter stating I would fulfill my lease to term but would not be renewing and I specially asked in my email for a response to confirm receipt of the notice. I waited a couple of days and never got a response, when I called the lady that answered was so rude!! Her response was " do you know what day it is?" After I responded respectfully she said we only accept notices on the 1st of the month so it's too late you're outside of the 30 day period,it was the 7th of the month when I called( July) and my lease isn't up until 8/31. After providing her with that information she then tells me to read my lease because I have to give a 30 day notice, I'm no mathematician but that notice was well within the 30 day time frame. Needless to say they require an exact 30 day notice. As a resident of this community who causes no problems, I felt like that exchange could have happened a lot different, after all I am paying their salary. More recently the office staff has started to show up on time but when I first moved here these people would take 2-3 hour lunches and show up 2-3 hours late. On several occasions I've sat in front of the office while several prospective residents have pulled in waiting 20-30 minutes to get information but have left because no one was in the office. Not a good look.
The neighbors are quiet for the most part except this one resident who insisted on locking her kids out of the apartment while she's out at work or doing whatever she does and they constantly kick their soccer balls hitting my patio door. I've had to speak to them several times regarding this, calls to the office went unanswered in this matter.
Parking sucks a bit but I've noticed there has been more spaces lately, I guess it's summer and a lot of people are moving or their cars got repossessed because all their income tax money is gone (lol Jk)
A lot of people get concerned because of the area but it's not that bad the police frequent the neighborhood quite often and they do have a curfew.
So to sum it all up I'd never ever ever live here again unless they upgrade the apartments( mine had old ass appliances, no washer/dryer connections, and my air conditioner stopped working several times), changed their management and office staff (corporate is great the in house management needs some work or some customer service training), and stop false advertising this "free rent" that sign has been there forever and I didn't get any free rent!!! So if you're looking to save or you just don't make much then go for it. But if you're like me and you like nicer things and value customer service then spend your money elsewhere!!
