I lived here for 1 year in a 3-bedroom apartment and overall liked it a lot. The apartment was spacious and nicely appointed. The neighborhood is cute and close to a lot of convenient stuff with at least 3 shopping centers within a 10 minute drive.
PROS:
- The pool and hot tub, though they're outdoors, are heated and open year-round. Being able to soak or swim even when it's snowing was a cool perk, in my opinion.
- Central A/C
- Fun events! The staff are all very nice and friendly, and they were always putting on community events like BBQs, football game viewings, etc.
- Maintenance requests were always addressed quickly.
- Pet friendly and not at unreasonable rates like many other places. It's nice to see dogs of all shapes and sizes out and about, to me it makes the community feel more active and lively.
CONS:
- The parking situation is iffy. Parking for guests is limited and the signs are easy to miss, meaning cars are often booted. They will only issue 2 parking permits per apartment, even if it's a 3 bedroom apt and 3 people with cars live there. (My roommates and I were offered a garage bundled in with our lease, which solved the issue for us, but I don't know if we just got lucky or if this is standard procedure.)
- My only other gripe is that you are expected to give 60 days' notice to vacate, BUT we weren't offered the renewal rate until less than a week before that 60 day deadline and the rent had gone up by several hundred dollars. That would have been a nasty shock if we had been planning to renew and stay based on the price we were paying. I understand and don't mind the long notice period, but it would be nice if they let you know your rent was going up at the 90 day mark, so that you have time to explore your options and make a carefully considered decision rather than a panicked one.
Overall I have no problem recommending this community - I liked living here and if finances and circumstance permitted I would have loved to stay for much longer. We got in on a special promotion and got an excellent deal at move-in, so look out for those specials and you'll probably get a good price on a very nice apartment.
