This apartment complex has been an absolute nightmare to live in. Personally, my room has reached out to management on countless occasions and have even had meetings to resolve issues but have either been ignored or disregarded entirely.
Here are just a few of the concerns that we have contacted them about:
1. ELEVATORS- there are NO elevators (even though their website clearly advertises this amenity). Living on the 3rd floor may not seem so bad at first but try moving all of your belongings up 62 stairs (not to mention groceries and heavy backpacks every day). Forget about letting your elderly family members visit your place.
2. CONVENIENT TRANSPORTATION-
a) one of their shuttles was involved in an accident probably two months into classes. Management's form of replacement is an uncomfortable van (sliding door and all) that requires you to get real close and personal with all of your neighbors. On top of that, everyone has to get out of the van to let people in the back out.
b) their lack of ability to fix their shuttle in an appropriate amount of time has resulted in students' having to REPEATEDLY pay OUT OF POCKET for ubers and lyfts to campus.
c) My roommate has, on more than one occasion, witnessed the bus drive right by designated bus stops without stopping, forcing her to wait for over 45 minutes until the next bus arrived.
3. AMENITIES-
In addition to the amenities not being available to residents for an extended period of time ( even though we were told before signing the lease there was a .001% chance the buildings would not be finished) upon moving in and being continuously lied to about timelines, ethos shut down facilities without informing residents.
While there may be a single positive review on here, don't be fooled. It was probably because the individuals that were forced to live in a hotel while their building was finished were actually temporarily compensated for their inconvenience while the other buildings were forced to deal with the overpriced, incomplete and hazardous living conditions provided to us.
I am not the type to leave reviews (this is my first ever) and am generally understanding. However, ethos has shown nothing but flawed business practices and inability to change or even acknowledge your opinion.
Bonus: if this all isn't enough, ethos continues to refuse to compensate for the amenities that they advertise as if they are currently available to us and state that "bloomington doesn't require apartments to have elevators" (which, okay sure, but we were told there would be one and this has to violate some type of law) and "your rent doesn't cover the amenities, just the room". HOWEVER, we were given a sheet upon signing the lease of everything our monthly rent included, which listed elevators, pool, fire pits, etc.).
There are cheaper options available with comparable amenities and floorplans in addition to management that respects their residents. I highly recommend you look elsewhere.
